Door Modifications & Copy Work

Replacing a door is easier when the new one matches the old one. Bring your old door to our El Paso store and our door shop will copy it onto a new door, so it fits your existing frame and hardware.

How Copy Work Works

  1. Bring in your old door. Take the door off its hinges and bring it to the store.
  2. Pick the new door. Choose a slab from our stock, or bring a door you already have.
  3. We copy it. Our door shop matches the size, hinge locations and lock bore of your old door.
  4. Pick it up. Take the new door home ready to hang, or ask about installation.

Shop Rates

  • Hinge & bore: $20
  • Basic cut (trimming the door to size): $20
  • Re-rail (rebuilding the top or bottom rail after a larger cut): $40

Pre-Hung Units

Our door shop also builds pre-hung units. Our standard jamb is 4-5/8"; other jamb depths, 8' doors and hanging a door you supply are available on request.
